As Adjunct Finance Professor at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business, she is the Director of the Student Managed Investment Fund Program in addition to teaching personal financial planning. She also serves on the Finance Department’s Advisory Board.

Professional Activities and Education
Julie is a Trustee for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and a member of its Investment Committee. In addition, she is a member of the Investment Committee for the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Foundation, a private family foundation and, for nearly ten years, served in the same capacity for The Children’s Foundation of Michigan.
Julie maintains deep connections in the philanthropic and non-profit arenas, where she offers consulting services. In 2022, Julie was retained by Michigan Women Forward (MWF), a community development finance organization dedicated to expanding female economic opportunity, to consult on credit training for micro-entrepreneurs. Julie is now a trustee of MWF.
Julie graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Tufts University and has a master of arts degree from The Johns Hopkins University. She is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Detroit.
